Journey Home

Journey Home

A Poem by MOON

It is not there anymore, this wish to be alive

Everything we hope for, all that we strive

The road unseen, I can see your face

The vision of it and all its grace

Now what does it all mean, where will it end

There is nothing of beauty, nothing grand

Where is the dance, the song, the living with heart

The wind has thorn it away blown it apart

You in that last journey of pain

Knowing all that is left is a hard, hard rain

No more dreams left to live

Everything cast away all adrift

Its not there anymore the glint in your eye

The voice that captured words, my reason why

A home frozen laid waste

My being trapped with you as you left in haste

I see all the birds fly, are you there

My soul skeletal bone and bare

second stanza last line... you might have a little typo. "thorn" should maybe be 'thrown'

The font you use is a pain in the a*s to read; you don't need to change it if you enlarge it though.

This is really beautifully sad, it swings around the tongue like a song you want to keep on singing, but the more it lingers there, the harsher is the pain that the heart has to bear. This is amazing. I have been away from this site close to 4 years and you are among the people I had to check their current writing, and I am totally moved. I love the fact that the poem is short, so that it keeps the audience desiring for more, and more, and more. This is really amazing writing, and the style shows a lot of sharpened skills and expertise in your genre of poetry. I love it!

You are welcome my friend.
First of all, I just want to say that I love the picture. The picture added the extra layer of depth and perspective for this piece. It's as if the sky was shining light on what's important.

"The vision of it and all its grace."

I liked this line. There was a magnificence to it. Watching and appreciating something so pure will cause such a heartfelt reaction.

"Its not there anymore the glint in your eye
The voice that captured words, my reason why."

Certainly, very deep. It seems that the speaker draws inspiration from this person. This person sounds as if they were the speaker's muse. It's difficult when something we believe so natural, such as strong emotions and feelings, fades. It begins to feel unreal. I adored the formatting. Great read.

as dylan sang..."and it's a hard rain's gonna fall"

there is such loss and despair in this....i relate, i have felt this feeling of not wanting to go on...what is life when it is laid waste by love leaving...we do just have the bare bones of our heart left.
