Affair's Anonymous

Affair's Anonymous

A Poem by KidAnthony

Flickering lightbulbs, cheap whiskey and a forgettable night.
That's all we've become.
No longer do I enjoy partaking in you,
The morning after is just too much.
Yet, I can't let you go.
You're my addiction.
Slowly, I undress you, same as I've always done.
Tonight, you're slippery.
I whisper to you,
"We can't keep meeting like this.
What if they find us?"
You keep silent,
I sigh and continue to reveal you.
I look at you,
Our lips meet, and I engage in our age old tradition.
My fingers interlock your waist as I bring you closer.
I pull back from you,
Tonight, you were intense.
Tonight, there was no going back.
Our lips meet once more as my mind enters a haze of ecstasy.
I fall asleep watching you weep silently.
Tonight will be our final night together.
Tomorrow, I'm giving you up.
