The Mirror Shows True Beauty

The Mirror Shows True Beauty

A Poem by Hamish McIndlister
"

Reality. Is it real or only perceived?

"

There is nothing left for me in this life or the next.

I used all of my carnival tickets at once

Just to see the House of Mirrors.

By the end, I could no longer tell you

What was real and what was not.

Is that what the world looks like,

Or is it just a warped view of reality?

Maybe the world truly is twisted,

All bent out of shape

And it is only my damaged perception

That made it look right angled and orderly.

All I know is that now I see the mirror

That reflects everything and everyone but me.

Now that is a vision of true beauty.
