Suns and Stars

Suns and Stars

A Poem by MachinaWriter
"

A poem...

"

I'm an extinguished sun and you're a shooting star;

guided by my dying light,

you've come so very far.

Sometimes constellations will realign with time,

and patient observation will show you better signs.

After all,

who'd have ever thought a comet could create

two burning stars, from dying hearts?

I guess love is never late.

I thought my times of shining were behind me,

blindingly, I was trying to see something I wasn't finding;

til I collapsed in on myself,

and I'm sure there's a wealth of excuses

for the mental abuses my heart imparts on the fuses of my mind.

Somehow, however, you had just the spark

to jump start this dying star,

carrying with you my dying light,

oh luv, you've come so very far...
