Casper.

Casper.

A Chapter by Katherine Van Hook

When we were younger, Talia and I used to play funeral. We’d put a white sheet on the old brown corduroy couch in the den and take turns laying on it, while the other delivered a eulogy. We’d never been to a funeral, so our source material was limited to cartoons and movies our parents hadn’t banned. My favorite was the angry widow. I modeled that one on Bill Pullman’s character in Casper. I tried to make the lines in my face just like his, the anger and sadness in his eyes mirrored in my own.
