Let go

Let go

A Poem by LadyT

When I saw your name on my phone my heart skiped a beat and my knees weakened.
It's been a year and you are happy with someone else and still I am sorry for how we ended.
You were an angel and I wanted to make you leave like everybody else by hurting you where I thought you most delicate.
My panic made me treat you poorly and I did things I never though I would.
After everything should be wiser and just get you out of my mind.
Smiling and satisfied is the only way I want you to be.
Countless times I replayed the memory of our last kiss that ended up against the wall.
Picked up the phone. Hope nobody gets hurt. Hope nobody falls.
I just can not let go.

It's so good. The feelings are expressed is a simple yet compelling way. The feeling to let go and to hold on are competing with each other and yet the however self harming, being with them wins out every time. Beautifully penned.

It is hard to let go, no matter who or what or how it ended.
This is plain and simple, I like the uncomplicated style.
Mine ended, I fell.
