A Lune: the American haiku

A Lune: the American haiku

A Poem by Maglia Weaver Twill
"

5-3-5 syllable lines, ascribed to Robert Kelly—a result of his frustration with the English haiku; variant ascribed to jack collom 3-5-3

"

Today I set out

To conquer.

Today I embrace me

Tomorrow I go

Blind batty.

Why live in sorrow?

This is what I see

Broken dreams,

A game of pretend.

Positive ages,

Then judgement,

Change of position.

"Today I embrace me" is 6 syllables.To-day-I-em-brace-me. I though it was supposed to be 5? Tip: perhaps use thesaurus.com to find a one-syllable word to use instead of "embrace".
