A Poem by Avi Lynn

Distance filled apologies

I would like to apologize
In advance
For my rudeness may come as a shock
I fear you'll forget me
Or maybe I, you
Or maybe, I should
Because of the way
I can't see beyond you
You're in all the words I read
Your voice, what I always miss most
When the days are long
The nights, way longer
Where are you now?
Under this same sky as I am
I wonder
With the same stars shining through your windows
The same ones I wish upon
That you'll stay
Even in distance
With me
