Losing Sight

Losing Sight

A Poem by Rose Tyler

All through the night tossing and turning,

Your back is to the sun

Stealing away what you need most

Just out of reach, on the tips of your fingers.

One step forward, always two steps back

Through the tunnel you came

With a snicker and thought it was just a game,

You fell awry but it's time to get back on track.

Turn your face to the light

Let it overtake your sight

Unsurmountable heights

Only a spark needed to set you alight

Your passion inspires me to do more

Though that may seem trite

I stay sincere and from the heart

Listen to my captivating words and you'll find

Truth rings through every line and syllable

It may seem like you've gotten lost

You're still where you are

A bit misguided but holding strong

Don't let them catch you off guard,

They'll only tear you down.

Keep hold of your heart

Lest you find tearing through it a dart

They're practicing and witholding the black arts

Get up and vanish before it all starts.
