Listening to every side
Pitting friend against foe
And letting the little things slide

Have you ever tried playing politics?
Trying to be the best you can be
But all those changes you wanted to make
You just have to wait to see

I've tried playing politics
Trying to fix a divide
But when you can't work together
Everyone chooses a side

I've tried playing politics
But trust me, it didn't go well
All the changes I tried to make
Backfired, and I fell

I've tried playing politics
It's a scary world out there
In the world of sharks and backstabbers
Life won't ever be fair

Never try to play politics
It'll turn a smile to a frown
Ruin everything you worked for
And end up bringing you down
