Love Is Powerful

Love is strong and attracts opposites but it cannot protect us from being hurt...

Love is powerful
It has the power to transform us
And makes us believe
It opens our world
Letting new and old people in
It is able to create an attraction between two people
It has the power to make people fall strongly in love
If only love had the power
To prevent us from getting broken hearts
If only love used its power as a shield
Then we could never hurt
And forever we could love
But love isn't so powerful as to do that
So love will hurt
And leave us broken
Because love is only so powerful....

Love is probably the most complex force in existence. While Love is undeniably powerful, it cannot shield us from pain...or can it? As we cannot appreciate the Light without periodically encountering the dark, so we must often feel Pain so we never take for granted Pain's other half - Love. Overall, a wonderful piece.

I completely agree. If only it could protect us. You're right, it is not there to do that. But some would say, that love teaches us to shield ourselves from it and from the world. It is only by dropping that shield when we can feel and really know love!
