Lost In Our Love

I feel so alone
And hidden amongst the shadows

Where am I
And how the hell did I get here?

It's cold
...silent

And then
Thump, thump, thump...

I became frightened
Was I being followed?

"Hello?"
But no answer

Thump, thump, thump...
There it was again and louder

I began to run
Hoping to escape this place

I ran
Until my legs collapsed

I stopped
Hoping to regain my strength

Thump, thump, thump...
The sound seemed to be getting closer

....This was a nightmare
From hell

The darkness
The shadows

I had no idea
Where I was

I felt broken
And confused

I started to cry
Everything I ever felt came alive

Pictures of you and I
Flashed inside my head

I had loved you
Like no other

I had been so scared
Of losing you

I couldn't live with myself
If I knew you weren't here with me

Amongst the silence
Came the sound of footsteps

I turned around
And saw nothing

Then Slowly,
I saw a figure beginning to form

Once close enough
I soon made out the figure

I could not believe it,
It was you!

Thump, thump, thump
Thump, thump....

My heart
Began to go wild

And the world around me
Came alive!

I began to see the light
And the shadows disappeared

I walked to you
Until I felt  your breath on my skin

I soon realized the thumping
Was coming from my heart

We look up
And our eyes met

You wrapped yourself around me
And kissed me gracefully on the lips

That's when I knew
I had nothing to lose

Before I could take a breath
I awoke

Everything,
Had just been a dream

I thought I was lost
But really.....

I was lost
In our love

Author's Note

The flow is not great but I kinda felt like this. I was trying to be creative and put aside my feelings for a moment so I could write about it. I love the man I am with and couldn't imagine myself without him. Hope to you enjoy it and if not please give me advice. I am always looking to improve my writing.
