GRIM REAPER

GRIM REAPER

A Poem by Amanda Louise Ellison
"

This poem is about being in a very dark place, being so depressed you're barely able to function. The cause of all of this is the unendurable emotional pain, actual despair that plagued me daily.

"
              GRIM REAPER
Grim Reaper,
Send me that eternal sleep.
Please shut my eyes,
Close my ears to all lies.
Unclasp my hands held in prayer.
Please send no one whom pretends to care.
Surround me with black.
Send me death, but don't send me back.
Grim Reaper, please, I'm begging you!
I'm on my knees!
For if you send me back, I just can't cope.
You'll be handing me my life to use as my suicide rope.

Author's Note

Amanda Louise Ellison
I wrote this when I was only 14 years old and it's still one of my favorite poems out of the hundreds that I've written. What does everyone think? Any advice or critiques would be greatly appreciated.
