Tonight

Tonight

A Poem by Vin

This night will mark the start.

The start of the end.

The death of a love,

The death of a friend.

I will always regret,

The last couple of days.

I would take them back,

And change them in hundreds of ways.

My pride took you away.

And your pride killed me inside.

And all I can think about is how,

Today was the day my world died.

A mistake murdered everything,

My hope, my life, and my soul.

Your words marked my grave,

And ate me whole.

Tonight was the night,

It all faded away.

Out of the light and into the dark,

My dreams decay.

This poem is inspired by a broken heart.

Never will it ever beat the same.

Everything has been lost,

But it is I who I blame.

The battle with the tears is taking place,

Slowly they shed one by one.

They seem to move swiftly down my face.

Slowly one by one.

And all I can think about is how,

Today was the day my world died.
