Panic Attack

Panic Attack

A Poem by Amanda Naomi

My heart at once seems to beet uncontrollably
And at the same time, not at all.
My insides shudder
But my skin never moves.
An undefinable fear rises where my heart should sit.
Confusion.
Terror.
Restlessness.
I don't know what's going on.
I tell myself to be quiet
But I'm not making a sound.
