Daffodils

Daffodils

A Poem by Maria

The soul is striving to spread its wings
To feel the Spring and daffodils,
To absorb the scent caressing mind,
I am the sunlight with auburn lips.
I hope the sun forgives depression
Once concealing imagination
A taste of honey has its brightness
The daffodil's blossom-innocent passion

Innocent passion and bright beauty -leave the badness and sadness in the blooming of each one- where love shines bright it overcomes all denied emotions and lost hope- I pray as each one blooms your heart is set aflight🌹wonderful words, love it🌹

I love the line:
"I hope the sun forgives depression"
It places a break in this beautiful poem that shows the shadow that lies within beauty. I really liked this poem Maria and I can't wait to read your other poems.

February is by the far the cruelest of months. If I had been a Roman emperor, it would have been the first to fight the lions.

"I hope the sun forgives depression" is a nice, simple line. To work the words "hope", "sun", "forgives", and "depression" into a line without making a horrible mess of it all is no small thing. Good writing.

It’s amazing how a simple thing like a smell, or a picture, or a memory can trigger creative expression......

Beautiful poetry.

How about jasmine next ;)
