Fragmented Whole

Fragmented Whole

A Poem by Marina

I see myself
getting lost in you
gradually,
methodically,
undeniably.
Now my fragments
of what I (am) used to be
are my only companions
-my reminders-
that somewhere in you
there is me
fighting its way out
Just like a sun ray
that's trapped in blocks
and blocks
and blocks
of cement
escapes from its smallest holes
Because there are holes in everything my dear
That's how I escape
That's how you sneaked in
---
Now I see you
Departing
Departing with myself still in you
Too shattered to ask back for it
You may have it my dear
You may have me
I have already forgotten all about me

Yes we do dear Marina. We give everything away and we can't get it back.

I love the above lines. Had the feel of a good jazz song. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Cheers Roxane, thank you so much!
You're becoming really deep. Even the title is complex. It's like no escape, cos you're irrevocably joined together. Stop being deep on a Monday.

That's food for thought there. A baseball bat perhaps it's better?
