The Curtain

The Curtain

A Poem by ~Mariposa Una Lila~

My friends are saying my life is like a country song
join in the tune and sing along
its starts with the cord of "G"
ok everyone follow me

I lost my husband in a hell of a fight
he decided to throw my life out one night

My handsome daddy died in June 2009
My beautiful Mother right behind

Two months later
she drew her last breath
August 18th I will never forget

Sepetember came and Boo Doggie ran away

now I have no one in my life they say

I do have my son whom I love with all my heart
but right now we are so far apart
maybe next year he will return home
finally a good man like his Grandpa's all handsome and fun
he and I will never be alone

Ive tried to make my poor marriage work
even thru scars I can't do it right
ive tried so hard, im too tired now
he want's to divorce me somehow

What did I do for this all to land on me?

I love my husband
though i am scared
I will never forget the tears he made me bleed

Write my name off of the deed
leave me again when I'm so full of need

Oh well,
as my lovely Mother would say
keep men at arms length and make it that way

My hansome Daddy told me
baby girl you jump too fast
to make a real family tree

I cry like a baby all of these days
all of them painful in so many ways

I cry my self to sleep
mom and daddy's number still on my phone

I will always keep
a lock of your beautiful long hair
a love letter tucked inside
so you know how much I still care

Mommy, Daddy, Boo Doggie
I miss you
come home to me

I never thought you'd ever leave me

The good times we had I laugh like a kid
I remember we were poor so what
we laughed and loved instead
we had your love surronding us all....

The End has come
But the curtain wont fall...

This is so full of more meaning than shows. But words will never match or describe the feeling you have left in this piece. I feel for you. I do understand for the most part. As much as one can without being you... But you know, for each dropping of the curtain it rises again. Rises to present another show. And such is life. For every door we see close, there is another one right behind it opening up. For every cloud we see blotting the sun, the sun rays bend to shine around the cloud. Life is such, as well. The ocean's waves beat against the shores, only to be thrown back. But they keep returning, never giving up. And sure enough, they slowly erode their obstacles away. And life is very much such as all of this. Keep your head up, your will strong. Never let life beat you down. For as soon as you do, it is no longer your life, but another one's...
Outstanding piece of poetic expression.

A excellent poem. Such strength and power in every line. Life can be a pain in the a*s. But we must keep going forward. Description and detail was outstanding.

Sweetie you left a piece of your heart on this piece. I feel your pain and you are not alone, keep on writing and share what is in your heart because you are connected to us, the readers, we are never alone.
God Bless you

I like this poem. I loved how it's like a song, but it's still a poem at the same time. It has so much pain involved and touches the issue and feeling of solitude and loneliness but still offers hope. I loved the pink by the way, made it eyecatching along with the first line. Couldn't bear to tear away until the end. Great job.

i just reread this, it makes so much more sense, now, it is so sad, and heart touching, it's like a sentiment and a memory in one, captured special, just loved it.
