My Hotdog-Silly Human

My Hotdog-Silly Human

A Poem by Dave

              My Hotdog-Silly Human

Ahhh, the pigeons, the birds I hate

on the boardwalk, their ungainly gait.

Their flight, such a perversion, while mine,

is superb, yes quite like a moment divine.

Almost being stepped on by the humans,

intent on eating their afternoon treats.

burger, popcorn, all kinds of sweets

I silently glide over the milling throng, waiting

for a human with a hotdog to come along.

A pigeon will have her stumble and I will sweep,

with a scary scree, a swoop at the hotdog and I go.

Human, don't you see all along it was meant for me.

I love this! It's a strong counter-statement to my pigeon poem! Most people who read my pigeon poem have bad feelings about pigeons so we needed your anti-pigeon poem & this is it! I love how many details you cram into this (especially food detaiuls) & I love how you jumped on my idea & brought it to fruition so quickly! Bravo! As I read I was picturing the pigeon with the hotdog & now I want a hotdog! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
