This Very Second

This Very Second

A Poem by Arthur Martel
"

Nothing special.

"
The night ahead is unexpected,
for what is to come I do not care.
I am energised before, and
I will be later on this very second!

My mind will be weary, my body
restless but never mind that now!
For now is now and tomorrow
doesn't matter anyhow.

I get the significance of what your saying Martin - its a thing I find hard to do to live in the now being a very much in the past type of person but that is changing. These are wise words in a swallow-able form my friend. I hope to make them one of my five-a-day

Ah, but tomorrow is important because it will soon be now. We can only live right now. The past is gone and the future is only a dream but it is the dream that we dream today. Tomorrow will be what we feed it today so be very careful because tomorrow is a hungry fellow and will eat whatever it gets a hold of - (this line from a poem I am currently working on - how timely I found your poem right now!) I agree this is a little poem, it has been said before but, it is nicely done. Your opening line is very good since everyone knows night follows day and night is always expected thus you lead us to expect the unexpected. Nice trick.
