Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher

A Poem by Honey-Bee

One photo of you by my bed
A dream catcher over my head
Unlocks my dreams to paradise
Where I become somewhat paralyzed

My dreams become my escape
And I watch you  as on a video tape
We walked beside the ocean tide
You held your hand in mine.

We were walking at a slow pace
As I looked into your face
You were happy as can be
You said you never wanted to leave

I said we would stay here forever
Forever and ever together
I would catch you in my dream catcher
Where we would become a man and woman of great stature

We all have that dream that won't go away and we won't let it go.

I'm not saying you should as obviously there is an intensity to the emotion there but sometimes we can't hold on forever to something.

Just a thought that passes through my clouded mind as I read this.

Kudos and keep it up.

Hey, Honey-bee.

Well, I must apologise. I did not see that you had asked me to read your poems. I guess I should allow my eyes to move left to right once in a while. Darn tunnel vision.

To dream of love and lovers shows your mind is open enough to let the beautiful things in. Don't let your self be "forever" trapped in those dreams though.

It's far better to feel the warmth of a real hand than to settle for the dry mist of a phantom hand in your dreams.

Beyond your dreams, in this world your prolific and heart felt writings have already shown you to be "A woman of great stature."

This is very interesting. On one hand, it seems a little whimsical, and light, on the other, it oozes loss and pain, and even adds a pinch of sarcasm at the end. A good verse to think upon.

I always wanted to set a dream catcher on fire then fill what was left with spent rounds and casings as a tribute to the occupation of Iraq..That's nothing to do with your poem though. I've a habit of writing the first thingth at pops into my head for reviews

Would be nice if Dream catchers could hold our dreams and hope. I enjoyed the poem and the ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
