Looking in the Mirror

Looking in the Mirror

A Poem by Mary Katherine
"

a poem

"

I am losing myself

just like I lose my temper

all my dreams seem to be on a shelf

and I can't reach them

I used to know what I wanted

now all I can see is my reflection

an empty shell of emotion and soul

trapped in a world of routine

I used to be different

flowing against the current

turning toward the wind

now what

should I forget the shelf

and live a life of

or buy a step stool

I can certainly relate to this piece! I suggest the step stool! I seems you may have inadvertently omitted something from the second to last line, unless you meant it to leave the thought to the reader. In that case, I would add: and live a life of. . .

~well done~~
