Chilled

Chilled

A Poem by Mavis Bard

Frozen
Into time
So fair, so cold, all alone
I reach for your hand as it slips away
As you descend deep into the winter blue

Come in
Still so cold
Warm your bones next to mine
Rest your soul in the comfort of my arms
The pain will fade deep into the winter blue

Don’t be afraid...the blue will fade
The fire will die...the sun will shine on you

Resting a soul on comfort, such an original yet perfectly fitting metaphor. I wonder about the ellipses in the ending couplet, I can't decide if they add or detract from the words. The blue fading and fire dying is very interesting imagery, makes you think. Nice write.
