Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Mary
"

Jesus takes his first steps. Part of the "Mary" story.

"

Letting Go

tiny hand slips from my finger

 “me do!” he boldly declares

pit-pat first step

he beams, I smile

pit-pat second step

 “me do?” “you do”

Pit-pat third step

thump- I reach…

“no! me do!”

up again pit-pat

pit-pat, pit-pat, “me do! me do!”

Singing - chanting - laughing - marching

pit-pat goes my heart

learning to let go

Just beautiful, the determination of freedom and growing gracefully, so soft and tender🌹

Aw, the ''me do'' is so adorable! I was smiling from ear to ear all throughout the poem, it was adorable. I loved the deep edge to it, I felt the mother's yearning to hold her child close, her heart reaching out to the child walking further away from her. Beautiful!

thank you Emily! Have a joyful weekend ;-)
This is why the story of Mary can be related to women of every era.. motherhood, baby steps, letting go.. allowing those steps of freedom into the world. You've done a wonderful job at that.

I think all mothers can relate to this. The transformation from infancy to toddler hood. How hard it must be to truly let go no matter who you are in the world. This was beautiful.

Thanks, Stacey. A mostly sweet, knowing that in a few short years, they walk out the door.
This gives an understanding of something hitherto not known by such as I. She is all Mothers letting go. And it does it in the most beautiful manner.

yes, how hard that must have been for her...to let him go...but she knew that was what she had to do...he had to go out and teach...do his thing.

what a crazy deal...Mary and Joseph, their relationship...and then to have a son who is, "well" God.
