Sempre

Sempre

A Poem by MelissaBlack

Wake up to the sun and the clouds and the mountains

Painting a picture for you-

The birds and the coffee pot creating a symphony of Bliss,

For you.

Walk through the day shedding armor,

Shedding skin and bones

Until you're naked and vulnerable to the wind that is also

Your Breath

And the life in your every cell.

In the morning you opened the blinds,

Stood in that ray of

Promise,

That ray of Faith.

You read on the cover of that magazine:

Isn't Life Grand?

Then you let Life penetrate you.

You saw Things.

You felt Things.

You remembered and

You forgot Things.

Transparent, you drank rum on the couch and

Confessed.

You came back to Yourself with the

Honesty of Now.

This.

Right Here, in this Holy Space.

And you read again

On that same magazine cover

After having thought and

Seen

And remembered and

Forgot Things and

Everything:

Isn't Life Grand?

I like the message and the emphasis is clear. However, the structure of the body is rather eclectic or "messy". Forethought combined with freestyle writing can find you with a better composition executed.

Sometimes, stories just pour from me. They come in all forms. Sometimes they make a lot of sense, and sometimes I don't even know what they mean. They always feel right, and they always make sense at .. more..
