More Than The Sparrow

More Than The Sparrow

A Poem by Melobldnfr
"

Whether it be for a season of a lifetime...

"

08/25/12

Lord, let the cricket be saved from drowning.

Let me not be employed by sadness,

For Your hand is in this

Even as I've prayed.

Bestow me strength

In the convictions set before me

That I may be fierce for You

And just keep swimming.

For I know Your eye

Is on more than the sparrow.

Author's Note

Melobldnfr
Written as the Lord has allowed me to touch a life. Whether it be for a season or a lifetime, I know without a doubt it is by and with His purpose and reason, and thereby am not ashamed nor regret.

Faith is so often a hidden quality ... one not openly shared. And that, I think, is a sad thing because it shapes so much of who we are. And here you are with an offering of belief ... one wise in its truth and simple in its message ... soft and beautiful in its afterglow.

This is ... again ... thought provoking and exciting work. Bravo!

PS: You might find the book Psalms by Joy Ladin interesting.

Your poem seems to speak about how you fully surrender your life over to the Lord and letting him lead you into His divine destiny for your life. Absolute surrender to God is one thing, I guess. And this goes beyond recognizing and acknowledging the reality that we each belong to Him which is not very easy as how we think of it. This piece made me think of the times I seemed to forget. A really nice piece, not emotionally or mentally draining write. And it's nice to be able to read creations like this sometimes when everything else seems so logical.
