...Of a Leaf

...Of a Leaf

A Poem by Melobldnfr
"

I wonder what it would be like...

"

06/26/03

I used to have the fastest walk,

The biggest talk.

Now I'm just a fast talker -

Your big walker.

If I were but a dragon

Or a discarded apple peel,

At least I could breathe real fire

Or have less feelings to feel...

But I'm not Loch Ness

Nor planted in a whiskey barrel.

Hey, at least I have a heart

(And it's not for sale).

The mathematician in me

Found the formula

To fill it up like a fuel tank

From time to time

With enough to fly by

(At least on one side).

The bunnies eat the grass,

And I watch contentedly.

I wonder what it would be like...

In the belly of a leaf.

This was a fun, quick paced write. It flitted from observation to observation and for that reason was really interesting. Loved it. Thanks.
