Dead End Street

Dead End Street

Why?

Why do women only want me as a distraction?

A distraction from whom they have chosen and can't shake,

Or the things they've created in their lives?

Or didn't create, but can't let go?

Why am I no more than entertainment?

Someone so quirky;

Fun to laugh at when being serious?

Why want all my time,

But when I need a moment,

Be too busy - gone?

Am I an idiot? A moron?

A pathetic waste?

A disgrace?

Do I appear simple? Easy? Dumb?

As if I won't hear or truly understand,

When they don't know me,

But say they admire me?

Don't. Please don't. Just don't

Go there.

It is a sad realization when we find that ourselves being used by those who take our best intentions and turn them back against us. Why, why, why? It hurts even more to ask that question.

I like what you have written here very much.
