I Couldn't Say

Just a short little poem while I continue to work on my stories!

Dear whoever you may be,

I hope you can see

that I didn't say it all.

There are so many things

I wanted to say,

but my head just got in the way.

I didn't spill my heart

out onto this page

because my feelings built me a cage.

Now, there are things I wish you could hear

but it seems the time 

just isn't near.

This should be the anthem for today's online world. People don't reach out much, & when they do, it's a one-liner. Your poem gets inside the head of this trend -- tangled in our doubts & uncertainty, we all become more & more isolated. Maybe this other person thinks I'm a jerk, so I won't reach out -- while the other person is thinking something similar, & it stops them from reaching out, too. Caged feelings such a philosophical and existentialist way of investigation of the meaning being. In the line
"I didn't spill my heart
out onto this page
because my feelings built me a cage." Shows powerful conflicting emotion yet conflicted which is important for me that's when you have all these ideas cause being lost is the best place to be pushes you to grow and truly find oneself. yes, the author composed a bunch of love letters from strangers of things they wished they said to loved ones, letters of heartbreak, and letters of how love changed their life.
