Castle

Castle

A Poem by Rose

I will drag this stone

from here to home.

I will build up that wall

so  it won't fall.

Nor will it break

when you try to enter.

But you see,

you are the reason

I locked myself in.

I had burned this castle down

and handed you the crown

just for you to go and hurt me.

but that is enough.

When you came back I called your bluff

but.

I never thought about the others who needed me.

So now I am stuck in this castle

unable to flee,

and it is either you win

or me.

Your poem brings to mind the kind of person who "breaks up with" someone, but then spends all his/her time grinding on whatever that person is doing or saying, imagining what he/she is thinking or going to do -- all things mostly unknowable & better left alone. Not being able to let go is the biggest jailer of them all, which you've expressed with the strong imagery of sealing oneself in a big fortress, as if this would provide protection, but it's just a different kind of bondage (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

❤️ Have an amazing day!
Wise and intense . we sometimes willfully hand the key to our mind and heart to people tht might just shantter/destroy it comoletely . Always , there are so many people gigling faces shouting for help , all we need to do is sit and listen , really look not just see.. We have to be there for each other because hate comes easy , love takes courage . tyfs , friend .

Poignant write must say cleverly presented with beautiful phrases and creative imagination. Love to read this thank you for sharing this. In this world of self-wishes, you are really angel for your friend just make your friend always admire him/her more than other so that it's less painful than what he/she going through. Stay safe and keep writing.

That's so kind of you to write this for someone. Castles always seem strong, and wise and so does this poem! I can't wait to see what else you create, and how it can possibly get better. The writing here, the rhyming, and the last line is breathtaking. The way you describe it and paint the pictures is absolutely amazing. I absolutely cannot wait for more, so please keep writing, because each time, it only gets betters and better!

Self-imposed isolation from society even through heartaches that beat like a drum of inevitably running into loneliness. How enigmatically you crafted the images prevailing the the obvious meaning of building a mental wall separating yourself from everything and everyone. Love the line "I had burned this castle down and handed you the crown." I really love this because reminds me of Pink Floyd The Wall Movie. Now I want to watch it again and if you do you'll receive different meanings each time. Keep writing as Allen Ginsberg wrote once " Follow your inner moonlight, don't hide the madness." sincerely your friend in writing

Rose,
I like this a lot....we build the walls as strong as a Castle's...even draw a moat around us for further protection---but that one significant other has the power to dissolve that wall in a second...
and we fall into our own moat...trying to avoid the gators of feelings chomping at our heart.
