{Eclogue Firefly}

{ Morning velvet,

sacred glory,

vortex thunder,

stay awake when

you’re about to break. }

*

As I sip on her words

I remember my own,

Yes, you can feel it,

but maybe we’re never

truly in dissections alone.

We be alone with monsters in

our head but when we talk to

someone we split into parts

the emptiness condone.

She helps me see it,

and like icy rain it’s

touching my every bone.

*

{ Penguin coast, be secure,

wounds are home,

me the most.

Deeper jaded,

bleed relief,

under the smile

are eyes that hurt.

Scared of so many things,

but the sunset worth covers

all the pain on Earth. }

*

Beautiful paper,

emerald daisies,

heart me a poem,

these are some keepers.

“Metallic swamps” are to

be properly aim kissed

by the many onlookers

with their prying peepers.

On occasion, the short poems, can be some of the best for the simple fact of what they say vividly and in a lighter tone. Here’s for you, my “eclogue firefly,” keep letting your light shine, don’t burn out too soon. Parenthesis, is hers, bold is mine in statements.
