~

Baby boy sleeping in a blanket of stars,

dreaming of bottles and binkies and

toys and cars and daddy and mama

and brother JJ with Blues Clues.

He’s armed with crystal vision,

set for life, mission capture,

angel halo and temper slews.

~

In the aware he has it

must be a wonderland

of paper birds and ice cream

cakes, builder blocks and

enchantful sing alongs bubbled.

Colorful paints and no pain

to ever harm him numb,

an innocent perspective.

~

Hunter Luke,

baby genius,

everyone loves him,

his photo glass is

“stained” pinkish.

Little man, grow up strong.

Nap times and play dates,

dress-up and story happy gates.

~

Baby boy sleeping in a blanket of stars,

dreaming of bottles and binkies and

toys and cars and daddy and mama

and brother JJ with Blues Clues.

Now is when you’re so non duskily

in a binding contract of boldly dues.

~

I pray for you to be the type of person

when you’re older that treats

yourself and your circled

interactions with the kind of

respect you all will so deserve.

Make your Aunt Courtney proud

and be a best seller with your fortunes.

Chase dreams and become a good knight.

Be the new world order, yours for taking.

Dream upon a fire inside for better

than what you get and fair sight.

~

Little man, grow up strong.

~

Auntie poet loves you,

don’t ever let anyone tell

you that you can’t reach your

potential height if the tides are able,

defend an honorable name, stay stable.

~

When you read this you’ll be grown,

understanding of conditions, truth known.

When you read me, read what could be of you,

never would I say this if I didn’t mean it, sown.

~

Baby boy sleeping in a blanket of stars,

dreaming of bottles and binkies and

toys and cars and daddy and mama

and brother JJ with Blues Clues.

He’s armed with crystal vision,

set for life, mission capture,

angel halo and temper slews.

~

Hunter Luke, near 15 months old

as I stamp and seal this document,

toddler stepping and fine print format,

still in diapers, waving wand of

“remember me,” always, in that.

Author's Note

 Spiral Panda

*For my nephew Hunter.* When he wakes up to when he goes to sleep in his crib at night he takes off running towards people and life with a smile on his face. It gives me hope. Maybe he’ll grow up to be this amazing advocate for some cause that’ll take the world from being a screwed up mess to a joyful bliss of cradle windfall. “Sprinted Voyage.”

Oh my goodness. This is adorable and so is he =] This poem is magical and full of wonder like childhood is supposed to be but you also let him know that life won't always be as easy. He will treasure this when he's older.
