Words of mass destruction

Words of mass destruction

A Poem by Mia
"

Lies are naughty...don’t you know!!!

"

He should have told you, you’re beautiful

Then you’d know...and they couldn’t use it against you

How can you not see the truth?

Mirrors and eyes don’t lie. unless. You let them

What did they say to blur your vision?

Let me burn my finger tips

Catching the candle wax before it hits your cornea

All is not lost

Self-esteem is how you see yourself

Through the words of others

Look through my words

You my friend are a pulchritudinous goddess

And their sticks and stones

And words

And jealousy

Can’t change that. unless. you let them

Author's Note

Mia
Sticks and stones...blah blah blah...whoever said it first needs to be tortured and then shot! This is for my friend (let’s call her friend ~.^) and anyone else whose made a habit out of listening to lies about your beauty and worth.

Nicely done Mia. Far too many girls (and boys) listen and are unable to see for themselves.

Regards.

Yikes I felt this one in my bones, you wrapped your pen around these lethal words so eloquently...

Let me burn my finger tips
Catching the candle wax before it hits your cornea

Now that's money, but I'm also in love with 'pulchritudinous goddess'.....this is a winner, kudos!

Good to know, my pleasure!
Why are humans so readily suckered into believing others lies, than their own truths? Validation is sometimes only good for parking fees! Nice write!

Sadly I agree with you…
Thank you, Barbara!
I know this truth all to well. Some people judge without ever even knowing the person personally at all.. Great write..x

"Catching the candle wax before it hits your cornea" is a twistingly painful image.

Wow, this is really hard hitting, very well written and you message is loud and clear. In our social world, words from others can have a big influence on who we are and who we see ourselves as but I think we should find a way to cut through all the bullshit and see the truth. Insults on people's part are usually just a cover up for jealousy, I mean if they didn't care about you then they wouldn't be bothered with saying anything...great write Mia, sorry for blabbing!

Thank you Prathama :)
People allow others to knock them down with their useless insults... it seems it is easier to believe bad stuff over good. Most those who insult others have low self esteems themselves.
