Lemon Poppy Seed

Lemon Poppy Seed

A Poem by Michael Iam Bone
"

This poem is an homage to the nostalgic days of my childhood and all the good times I had.

"
Lemoooon, poppy seeeeeeeed.
Lemoooon, poppy seeeeeeeed.
Lemoooon, poppy seeeeeeeed.
That iiiis, what I neeeeeeeed.

When I pull my ocariiiina out to play this soooong,
I stop to think of all the times, of when I did beloooong.

The times when I was in the workshop, helping out my dad,
And when my mom would hold me close, when I would become sad.

Oh hoooooooow, it waaaaaaaas, so wonderful to beeee,
A child with a family, who did so much love meeee.

From Chriiiistmaaaas cookiiies, to the lights and Christmas treeee.
How it was so happy, to be meeeeeeeee.

Leeemon poppy seeeed, the bread to me she'd feed.
How we wouldn't let it last the day, it'd be in our tummies.
But oooooh how those days are gone, returning sparinglyyyyyy...

Oh how I miss that lemon, how I miiiss thaaaaat leeemon, how I miiiiiss thaaaaaaat lemooooon, popppyyyyy seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed....
