Into the Hourglass

Into the Hourglass

A Poem by Michael Thrower
"

A poem about seeing life through the concept of time itself.

"

Looking into the hour glass

We see in depth what is to be

Life revolving all around

Nothing is quite just how it seems.

One tick of a clock

Can end a life

A life that’s lived to be.

But in the depth of misery

Unveiled and now we see.

No peace, love, or tranquility.

I know this might be a bit trippy, but I suggest you read it slowly, ponder, and tell me what you got from it. Thanks for reading.

Nice...I always look forward to finding this kind of good stuff. It means that someone out there values the life that we have.
Aeron in Gena Showalter's The Darkest Passion, asked his friend Paris why we humans seemed not to care that we were dying.
But we do and it's only our experiences that remind us.

I don't thinks it's trippy at all.
It's very deep, and it has good imagery.
I like the beat and rhythm.
Keep writing!

Good rhyming! I like the part about the clock. I seem to like clocks for some reason.

I really liked the form, along with the poem, how it went 4 lines, then 3, 2, and then 1. I don't know if it was intentional, but it was cool, sort of reminded me of an hourglass in some weird, obscure way.
Great poem :)
