Last Light of Days

Last Light of Days

A Poem by Michael Thrower

Approaching dawn I saw through eyes

That sees beyond the pale

Into dark waters

Where I have been so frail

My last glimpse of life

The mysteries unfolded

Like waves upon the shore

I fall onto my knees

And pray for my soul

That God take me where I’m free

The last light of day

Shines before me

As I drift into the haze
