Fighting the Impossible

Fighting the Impossible

A Poem by Lost in Wonderland

Maybe you're right
All odds are stacked against us
Everyone waiting to see
Our broken souls,
which cling to each other so desperately,
Fall apart again

Maybe it's true
Maybe we're destined to fail
Maybe we're meant to cry
Perhaps we'll always be alone at night
Clutching our pillows
Not know what on earth to do

But the way you smile so sweet
And kiss me in the morning light
Makes me want to stand and fight
Because I want to fall in love with you
Truly, madly and deeply
I want to find my world in your eyes

So no matter how impossible it is
I'll imagine you holding me tonight
And even if we never meet in a million years
I'll still want to dry all your tears
Maybe this is a dream that won't come true
But I'm not ready to give up on you
