Purple

Purple

A Poem by Bianca

I hang my head down low

Trying to not let the tears flow.

He utters an excuse for what he did,

and I know theres a bruise forming.

  Pleads me to forgive him

Weird how i say okay.

The bruise is a dark purple-black, a symbol for my sorrowful life that I live.

Only difference that in a week the bruise will improve while my life won't.

I'm on a rafting drifting farther and farther from reality.

Nothing can truly call me back, because I'm all alone.

Nothing I have to rembember, just a bruise that I'll soon loose.

If only my life can improve, I let the tears flow.

I would save a soul for the color purple, abusive relationships are all around us, this poem brought to life the martyrdom that so many of us face, in one way or another.

A nice poem. Thank you for penning...:)

Not bad, but check your spelling, and I think you could have chosen more evocative and vivid imagery. Some of it currently feels a little dull and boring, and that's definitely what you want to show the reader. I also think you might want to cut that line about the symbol, as it seems a little heavy-handed - the reader can figure it out on their own.
