Believe

Even in your darkest hours,

When hope seems too frail a support to hold;

When you stare into the abyss of depression,

Clinging on to your sanity by a thin thread;

Troubled and alone; lonely and cold;

 

Even in those moments of certain uncertainties;

With an embittered heart and a tortured soul;

Comforting your pillows with nocturnal tears,

Waking up to the cockcrow’s of sorrows;

Your mien, anything, but bold

 

Even when a smile seems like a luxury;

Of which, you possess not a dime to purchase.

 

Even when the bitter-sweet acquaintance with pain;

Suffices as the only nectar your soul can taste.

 

Never lose faith.

 

Believe.

I'm going through a really tough phase in my life. This poem is for me and for anyone who can relate. Any thoughts?

Mifa,
It is the sound of genuine sighs and hurt between the realizing of dreams that difficulties and pain and awkwardness often are our teammates. I have had my own share of difficulties which is part of life. When you are in this season though, it is yours alone. So I wish you the ability to put one foot in front of the other, to take one breath at a time. The best that a person can do in a difficult time or season is just to go in little starts and stop. Just keep going. Weep if you have too. I know that life does go on...bless you in your situation. You are stronger than you know. The very presence of your above writing shows it.
