You Make Me Nervous

You Make Me Nervous

A Poem by PoeticColors

My eyes are glued to you
Worried about your next move
I panic the second you leave my sight
Did I hide the knives?
Did I hide the pills?
Did I take the razors?
Did you take your medicine?
What if I find you on the floor?
What if I find a note lying around?
My heart starts racing
My palms start sweating
But before I yell out your name
I hear people laughing and music playing
I let the sounds guide me
The TV is on
You’re asleep on the couch
I let out a ragged laugh
And feel tears of relief on my cheek
