The Calling

The Calling

A Poem by Mike Wolfe
"

"And after the earthquake was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire was a still small voice." -I Kings 19:12

"

The gentle whisper, a sacred song

Calling from the raging storm outside

A peace in the midst of so much wrong

Telling me to go against the tide

He tells me to go to the unknown

But I feel the fear rise inside me

I don’t want to go through this alone

And I’m afraid of what I can’t see.

But the voice still calls out of the dark,

Soft and still, a peace in this dark place

He tells me I am sealed with his mark

He give me strength, my fears I will face

I will go,

Go into what I do not know

I will trust him alone

I envy people with a calling, inspired by a higher force.I wish I could be less cynical and find trust.

Well done.
