Forget

Forget

A Poem by Dave G.
"

Breaking up is hard to do. Forgetting is harder.

"

I knew, what I got into

I knew, what you would put me through

Did you, know what you would do?

Did you, know how hard I fell for you?

It seems forever since you left

On you my heart was set

I felt the beat stop in my chest

But I can’t forget you yet

I knew, where you’d lead me to

I knew, your lies would leave me ruined

Did you, know the games you’d choose?

Did you, know that it was me who’d lose?

It seems forever since you left

On you my heart was set

I felt the beat stop in my chest

But I can’t forget you yet

I know that it was wrong

I know I can’t be strong

I know I should move on

I know you will stay gone

Will you take another stance?

Will you take me on a chance?

Will you lead me by the hand?

Will you help me drink the sand?

It seems forever since you left

On you my heart was set

I felt the beat stop in my chest

But I can’t forget you yet

I knew, what I had to do

I knew, my heart would not approve

Did you, think I’d forget you?

Did you, know I’d forget you?

I like it, it encapulates the madness that beseiges us all when we loose out in love...
