Him/Her

Him/Her

A Poem by Mip/John K. Brierley
"

Two sides of a coin.

"
The bright side of things is the best way to look at life
Sunshine, flowers, rainbows, and everything pretty
The smile on his face makes people smile
He hangs arounds with his friends all day long
He turns rainy days into summer
What happens when he looks away
He sees pain, blood, scars, and tears
His smile disappears
He sees her scared face
Becoming bright
He tells her
It is
okay
It's not
She tells him
Falling apart
She sees his smile
Her frown disappears
She sees smiles, and flowers
What happens when she looks away
She turns spring days into winter nights
She cries alone, with no one to lean on
The scars on her skin makes people silent
Beheadings, hunger, hate, despair, pain, and everything bad
Dark side of life is generally ignored these days
