A Flicker of Hope

A Flicker of Hope

A Poem by Mirabella

A Flicker of Hope

I opened my eyes, my heart

Again

I saw the most amazing thing

A flicker of hope

In your smile

Your nod

Your laugh

Your witty comments

Is it the friend I once knew shining through?

The flicker grew brighter

And brighter

And even brighter

A flame.

But it’s just a flame

Of hope?

Of what we once were?
