Ablutions

Ablutions

A Poem by MiriamMB
"

using words as comfort.

"

It’s a day for poems

Ablutions with words

But words aren’t water

And whoever told you only

Water could be blue lied to you

Fire can be blue, peaceful, flowing too and

Its many tongues lick much cleaner

You’re washing yourself in

a heaving blue giant

but there’s still cleansing

and forgiveness there

In the burn

In your bones cracking open

Under the pressure

In the fire burning inward,

Replacing marrow and

Letting in the world.
