Type I

Type I

A Poem by MiriamMB
"

covet

"

You burn dangerously hot

and perhaps

It would be safer to know you

as a silhouette in the dark

I searched for you,

to find your hands

your lips drawing me in

with a warmth like the cracks along the earth

leading to the mouth of a restless volcano

I don't mind your fingers

leaving singed skin

in their wake

I knew what you were before I sought you

your voice,

the hum of scythe-like

truths cushioned in the dark

you are a star

always on the cusp of change

If you'd let me,

I could witness the

expansion of your core,

you,

a thing of exorbitant life and

the mass of the many lives you've molded,

you,

in full bloom

like a supernova in the vacuum.
