I don't want you

I don't want you

A Poem by MiriamMB
"

Sometimes you crave choas

"

You don’t hit me like a wave on a stormy night

I don’t want you

You don’t leave me copper to taste

And souvenirs welted and stinging

Like a jelly fish’s kiss

I don’t want you

Your wind is a breeze

And you feel like warm sand under my feet

I don’t want you

He’s enough of an island

And he’s the only calm I will ever know

I’m heading from his shores towards the eye of the storm

You see

I don’t need your solid ground

Your steadying against the gust

I’m swimming out to sea without a boat

Not even a piece of plywood to keep me afloat

I’ve never known what drowning feels like.
