I Am

I Am

A Poem by MissEpic2902

I am strong,

Yet some say that must be wrong.

I am curious,

Yet I am also a little superstitious.

I am kind,

Yet some say I rarely speak my mind.

I am learning,

And many say I learn by doing.

I am driven,

Yet when things fall apart, I sometimes feel ready to give in.

I am a writer,

Yet some don’t understand that when I write I feel inspired.

I am eager,

Yet some say my efforts are meager.

I am smart,

Yet some say my intelligence isn’t my best art.

I am an invention,

Motivated by creation, and unique in my intentions.

I am all of these things,

Yet I am none of these things.

I am creative,

I am free,

I am, of any of these things, me.

I loved this. A very simple poem, but none the less powerful for it. The ending was absolutely perfect. Beautiful. We are all more than the combination of our perceived attributes. Thank you so much for sharing this, it was a very enjoyable read. Keep up the good work ^^

It's a wonder how words so small and so simple can amount to so much! A lovely poem... Keep it up! :)

Another brilliant piece of work, not on the same level but have a look at my piece, my creative Ego, every writers nightmare?

Really touched me...Nice way to express yourself...
The best part is the way you concluded...succinct and true.
My only wish is to see a better rhyme length to this awesome creation.

Amen! I couldn't put it into words, but you did. It's perfect, I wouldn't change a thing.

Holy noodles this is amazing! I couldn't turn from it until it was done! Truly amazing! Purely brilliant! It was captivating but at some points I found a little rocky, maybe it was me but I wasn't most keen on the "I am learning" "yet I learn by doing" I think if you replaced the second learn to something else it would maintain the flow and still assure us of the poems contradiction? But an amazing peice of art.
