Hope

Hope

A Poem by Krista Everson

Subtly, the colors fade
As the current of the oceanic waves
Calmly settles as the night moves forward.
Light shimmers on the horizon
Eyes are growing soft
Time is standing still
There she lies, supine on the sand,
Gazing up at the stars,
Motionless and slowly departing
Into another dimension-
A psychological dimension, a dream...
She asks herself, "What is this place?"
A voice from afar tells her.
"Whatever you want it to be."
Intrigued, she wanders aimlessly
Familiar with her surroundings,
Yet with an unfamiliar lens
She pauses...a new adventure awaits
"Teach me more," she bellows
More discoveries to be found,
Lessons to be learned,
Emotions to be felt...
She sees...
"Shift my eyes further
From familiar territory
For there I am not finished
With my journey...not yet,"
She cries with hope.
