One Life to Live: The Poem

One Life to Live: The Poem

A Poem by Nina St. Moritz
"

This is the poem I wrote to accompany my short story of the same title.

"
From birth to death,
no matter your dreams,
life has its own path,
a wandering stream.

And though it grows rough,
weather fate’s wraith.
It is part of a plan,
the stream’s set path.

Go your own way.
Know what you give.
Remember your deeds.
One Life to Live.

Author's Note

Nina St. Moritz
I contemplated making the 'your' in line 9 into a 'you're' to better go with the second message, changing the 'own' to 'you're', but I thought it might take away from the rest of the poem. Any thoughts on this?

First off, I love this write! I think the flow and pace is excellent. This is a beautiful and delicately done piece. The first stanza is my favourite and enticed me to read on.

I think you're right... If you would have taken away own and replaced it then the flow wouldn't have been as fluid and the feel of the write would have changed.

I thought "you're" is an abr. for 'you are'
